How to Fix a Cracked Basement Wall from The Inside

Here's a long post (questions) from one of my blog readers. I will outline and write my response (Answer) below it. Let's get going.   Reader's Questions So we have this house we are fixing up. Downstairs in the basement, we have some block work repairs we’ll be doing. The pictures are one room I’ll be attaching. I’ve already taken all the shelving out, saturated it with a 50/50 bleach/water mix, scrubbed the crap out of it, rinsed with water, swept/scrubbed all the loose stuff off the walls and floor. There is a little bit of grime left in a few spots on the interior walls. And the house had an old wood burning furnace; there was a bucket that collected the water that came down the chimney and there’s some nasty soot-water on the wall (it sat for ~3 years). I’m hoping to start with the hydraulic cement in the big cracks, holes, and wall-floor corners next week, then crack filler in small cracks....

Where to buy cheap 275 gallon water tank?

You’ll agree with me when I say that getting a reliable water supply to your cabin is a real challenge. Enter the 275-gallon water tank! This is particularly due to the fact that you are in a remote area that is off the grid and hence you cannot easily connect to the municipal water system. This challenge would be solved by digging a well or pumping water from a nearby river. However, if you have none of the above alternatives, I will outline how you can cheaply purchase a cheap water tank or water totes. I must state that I have found the 275-gallon water tanks to be adequate for water storage in my cabin. Water tanks are excellent for rain catchment and water storage in your off grid property so that by summer time, and all the time, you have enough water for use around the cabin. Well, Craigslist is probably the best place you can get the 275-gallon water tanks cheaply. Imagine this,...

How to Build A DIY Outdoor Shower Enclosure Off-Grid

DIY Outdoor Shower Enclosure are an excellent way to wash up and cool off in your Off-Grid property and summertime, which could compliment your swimming pool. An outdoor shower will help you avoid tracking dirt into the cabin after some time in the garden. So, I challenged myself to build an outdoor shower enclosure. Disclaimer: I am no expert carpenter: I provide what I learn through experience in my off grid property. What was my motivation? However, I have always achieved my goals through ambition and hand on experience as opposed to using extensive pre-planning. Therefore, with some manual tools and a few powered tools, I set out to work early in the morning. Initially, I wanted to tackle all the masonry, carpentry and plumbing in the project alone but I figured I need a hand so I invited a cousin to help me out. However, I had a budget of roughly $500, and I needed to save on the most I could form contact woodworking...

Champion 75537i Review: Best Cabin Generator

When I went off grid, I purchased a Champion 75537i 3100 watts (on Amazon) with a remote start and, save for minimal repair work, I can’t complain. So, why did I choose Champion 75537i? Champion 75537i is for off grid or RV people as it runs cost-effectively, has top efficiency (running about eight hours at roughly 25 percent load), has wireless remote and is slightly silent (58 dBA). Note: Initially, in my RV life, I was using a Honda EU2000i (that I purchased on Amazon), which I replaced with the Champion 75537i as it is more powerful for off-grid. Therefore: Forget the fake blogs all over the internet, I provide real-life experience with my Champion 75537i inverter generator. Further, I will not hold back any positives or negatives about the generator for RV owners, off-grid people, campers and tailgaters.  Experience with this Inverter Generator  First up this is an inverter generator. That means it's relatively quiet and it generates clean sine wave power that's safe for your sensitive electronics....
